OceanManager.ai pitched and validated at PortXL, Singapore

OceanManager was one of the 30 Company’s selected in November 2018 to pitch their solution at PortXL. PortXL is the world’s first Port and Maritime accelerator program and this was the first time they were scouting for promising Companies in SE Asia

From the 30 Companies scouted, only 15 were validated and approved for Selection days in Jan 2019. OceanManager was one of the final 15.

Selection days took place from 08th to 11th Jan at Singapore. The first two days were spent training to make a two minute pitch to the Jury as well as refining the presentations.

10th and 11th Jan were the two days over which all 15 finalists made a pitch to the juries and spent 30 minutes at each jury table (5 tables each) to explain their solution in detail as well as answer the questions from the jury.

Eventually a 60 jury panel decided who the 9 successfulteams would be. OceanManager was one of the 9 selected! It was also reassuring to know that a jury of 60 very experienced maritime professionals has endorsed our solution and believe it worthwhile to be accelerated.

After selection, all 9 teams spent three months in training, preparing pitch decks, pitching and corporate visits.

12th April 2019 – finally it was time for the PortXL Shakedown. The Singapore founding cohort as well as 3 Alumni from the Rotterdam cohort presented their solutions.

The event was very well attended and supported by the Maritime and port industry as well as the Government. Enterprise Singapore is a very big supporter of PortXL and was in attendance.

The Ambassadors of Netherlands and Philippines also graced the occasion and spent time understanding the unique solutions from each of the founding cohort.

The attendees were very receptive and encouraging, providing feedback and validation to all the presenters. The networking session after the presentations was very lively with a lot of new connections being made with plans for engagement in the future.
